PM and 'tea'

Random facts to make you smile today:
"PM" as referred to in a newspaper or in everyday conversation is an abbreviation for "Prime Minister.
"Tea", as in "morning tea" or "afternoon tea" has nothing to do with the anticipatory fact that there will be literal tea-drinking at the event. It has everything to do with it being an"interchangeable word with "snack" or "meal". When one of my Kiwi friends asked me what I thought "tea" was tonight, I looked at her confused and asked HER what her favorite "tea" was. She said "pasta". Hmmm I'm sorry, I haven't heard of that one before!

  1. 1. Not to be confused with 'MP' which means Member of Parliament...

    2. I still find the whole 'tea' thing very distressing...
